Arabic Facts
Arabic has played a similar role in the Islamic world as Latin has done for the Romance languages of Europe: many words have been lent to others, including languages such as Kurdish, Persian, Swahili, Urdu and Hindi
Arabic is the official language of many countries, including Algeria, Bahrain, Chad, Dijibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, the UAE and Yemen
The Arabic alphabet derives from the Aramaic script, is written from right to left, and traditionally the Western and Middle Eastern versions have several differences

Book now / EnquiryThese courses in Arabic are meant for those that feel that learning Arabic would make a change in their work. For starters, it is expedient to learn how to say hello/goodbye, as well as basic business protocol; once the basics have been mastered, reading and writing come to the fore. Students who have greatly benefitted have been involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, jobseekers in multinational companies where another language is required, and those working in the international academia and government circuits. Even on our most fundamental beginner's course, students can anticipate ending the course with basic telephone Arabic and e-mail Arabic skills for communicating, as well as survival Arabic if a short visit to the country is needed.
Book now / EnquiryThis set of Arabic tutorials are less specific and more targeted at those who want to get a range of different things from learning Arabic. Even though all novice students will cover survival Arabic: enough Arabic to make a visit to the country or make good contacts with the locals, but what do you do from there? It depends on your needs. Those who have benefitted from these courses have been those moving or investing overseas, spouses of overseas nationals, people who love to travel all over the world, those interested in Arabic culture, and those who just want to pass a specific examination in Arabic.
Book now / EnquiryIf there are 2 or more of you with the same level of Arabic, the same targets within the language, and be able to study at the same time and location, then you'll be happy to know that these Arabic courses can also be made available for Two-to-One Arabic Courses or Small Group In-Company Arabic Courses. Listen & Learn do not generally recommend classes of more than 6-8 people, although Taster courses in Arabic can run with up to 12 people. Bookings must be made for all participants at the same time.

Originally the site of Britain's first water-powered silk mill, Derby was an important focal point of the textile industry, with the 19th century seeing Derby become a centre of engineering, specifically railway engineering. Nowadays the city's biggest employers are Rolls-Royce plc and Toyota, and the city has earned the nickname of "Ghost capital of Britain", with over 1,000 paranormal sightings recorded in recent years.
