Czech Facts
There are three distinct dialects in the Czech Republic - Common Czech, Moravian Czech and Silesian Czech. All are grammatically similar, but have different nouns and pronunciation
Czech is a West Slavic language, and is spoken by about 12 million native speakers
Stress in the Czech accent has no bearing on distinguishing word meanings - it simply denotes boundaries between words
Your colleagues and yourself can be trained by our native-speaking fully-qualified Czech tutors at a time and location to suit you. Book now / EnquiryThese Czech lessons are driven towards people who have a requirement to learn Czech to bolster their work output. For novices, you will find it useful to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and once you have become more proficient then reading and writing will come to the fore. Typical students include those concerned with import/export, those seeking work in multinational companies, international negotiations, and anyone working with international colleagues or administration. Even on our most rudimentary beginners course, students can expect to finish the course with decent telephone and e-mail Czech, as well as a good enough grip on the language for a short trip to the country.
Book now / EnquiryCzech courses of this type are broader and are aimed towards students with a variety of requirements. While all beginner level students will cover survival Czech - needed for short visits to countries where English isn't widely spoken, or if you wish to 'go local'; those studying Czech usually go in different directions at this point, depending on what they need. Those who have benefitted from these Czech classes have been those investing in or buying property overseas, those married to overseas nationals, people setting off on a round-the-world trip, enthusiasts in Czech culture, and those enthusiastic to pass a specific exam in Czech.
Book now / EnquiryIf there are 2 or more of you with the same level of Czech, the same targets within the language, and be able to study at the same time and location, then you'll be happy to know that these Czech courses can also be made available for Two-to-One Czech Courses or Small Group In-Company Czech Courses. Listen & Learn do not generally recommend classes of more than 6-8 people, although Taster courses in Czech can run with up to 12 people. Bookings must be made for all participants at the same time.

Exeter
A sizeable city found in the county town of Devon, Exeter is situated on the River Exe and has a population of around 115,000. Originally Exeter developed as an administrative centre and a port city, as it was founded on the lowest bridging point of the River Exe. Much of the city centre was decimated by the German Luftwaffe in the Second World War, prompting major reconstruction in the 1950s, replacing many historic buildings. As such, while Exeter was previously regarded as second only to Bath for architectural study, Exeter is not dominated by its tourist trade.
