Dutch Facts

Many Dutch speakers assume that Afrikaans is a dialect of Dutch - it is in fact a separate language, though it mainly evolved from Dutch

Dutch is spoken by around 22 million people, mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium

Dutch grammar shares many traits with German, but having a less complicated morphology puts it closer to English

Dublin

The largest city in Ireland, Dublin has been Ireland's capital since medieval times, and has a population of over 500,000 people. It is the third most-visited capital city in Europe (after London and Paris), with over 4 million visitors per year. It has a long tradition of emigration and is home to many immigrants from countries such as China, Poland, Nigeria, Lithuania and Romania, as well as many other EU member states. Dublin also plays host to the headquarters of almost all of Ireland's sporting organisations, educational institutions; and is also one of the most youthful cities in the world - an estimated 50% of the population being below 25 years old.
