Having just recently graduated from university, luck was very much on my side. I was due to start my new job in one month. Many of my friends who are qualified teachers were not so lucky. They were still trying to find a suitable school for many months after I had begun teaching. I think my success lay in the preparation that I did in the months before I ended university. Countless visits to the careers office and contacting as many schools as possible ? all paid off in the end. I remember walking into my first class on that Monday morning with twenty pairs of eyes all fixed on me; as if I was some sort of alien. However, I was determined not to let it affect me as I had taught numerous classes before, all without a problem. I had always liked the idea of being a teacher ever since my early days in primary school. It was so much more fun in those days but as you grow up you realise that life has to be about more than just fun. So, I had always told myself that I wanted to be a teacher ? and now, I was. Over the initial weeks of term, I quickly realised who the lively characters were. Therefore, I decided to keep an eye on their progress right from the start. More so for their own good because if they got into the habit of working hard from the start ? then it would make my life so much easier and in turn, their own.
Our English speakers, fully qualified to teach their native tongue, can train you and, if need be, the rest of your group at a time that is suitable to you, at your home or place of work. Sessions can take place on the day of your choosing - even weekends - and at the time you want: whether it be morning, afternoon or evening. If circumstances arise where your home or office is not convenient, the classes can be held at your trainer's office. Resources for the course are provided for you.
Book now / EnquiryThose who would benefit the most from these English tutorials are those who feel they need to learn English to help them out in their business lives. For starters, learning salutations and business etiquette is integral; once these have been practiced then reading and writing courses can start. Typical studiers have been those involved in international import/export, negotiations and acquisitions, those in multinational companies requiring another language, and those working in any way with international governments and relevant administration. Just our simplest course for beginners will have students finishing the lessons with basic telephone and e-mail English, as well as survival English should a visit to the country be necessary.
Book now / EnquiryThese English lessons fit a broader spectrum, and can be useful for those who need different things from the language. Most beginner students will have a handle of survival English by the end of their course, which will provide them without enough English to communicate at least at a basic level during short trips to the country, but those who require more would benefit greatly from these sessions. Typical students have been those eager to travel all over the world, those buying overseas property, those with foreign spouses, aficionados of English culture and those who just wish to pass a particular English exam.

Listen & Learn do not generally recommend classes of more than 6-8 people, although Taster courses in English can run with up to 12 people. Crawley
A town in West Sussex with a population of just under 100,000, Crawley is an historic unparished borough. The town grew beyond expectations with the advent of the railway in the mid 19th century, its position between London and on the turnpike to the holiday resort of Brighton bringing it untold development. Recent development owes much to the nearby London Gatwick Airport - the busiest single-runway airport in the world. Crawley also offers modern shopping facilities and leisure centres, as well as historic churches and libraries.
