A) Good, everyone?s here now. There?s coffee if you want it. Right, can we start please? As you all know, Steve?s been working as assistant to Stacey McGregor for six months now. He?s just finished his probationary period. How do you feel about offering him a full time contract?
B) I?m not sure we should do it really. It says in this report that he?s been late to work a few times and he can be rather?
C) Oh, I don?t think that?s too important.
A) Could you let her finish please?
C) Oh, sorry, I didn?t mean to butt in?
C) Another thing about Steve I?m not happy about. He leaves exactly on time every day. Also, he doesn?t have lunch with us very often, you know, he goes off on his own?
A) I?m not sure that?s relevant
C) Mmm, maybe.
A) I think we should move on now if we?re going to finish by 11 o?clock. We do have other promotions to consider.
B) But what about his actual work? In my opinion, it?s fine. He?s done some really good things.
A) Well, I think we should discuss this a bit more. What exactly do you mean by ?good things??
A) Well, thanks very much, Fiona. You?ve made your views very clear. OK, let?s go over what we?ve agreed. Steve will have a further probationary period of three months. After that we will discuss his position within the company.

Book now / EnquiryThese English lessons are driven towards people who have a requirement to learn English to bolster their work output. For novices, you will find it useful to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and once you have become more proficient then reading and writing will come to the fore. Typical students include those concerned with import/export, those seeking work in multinational companies, international negotiations, and anyone working with international colleagues or administration. Even on our most rudimentary beginners course, students can expect to finish the course with decent telephone and e-mail English, as well as a good enough grip on the language for a short trip to the country.
Book now / EnquiryThis set of English tutorials are less specific and more targeted at those who want to get a range of different things from learning English. Even though all novice students will cover survival English: enough English to make a visit to the country or make good contacts with the locals, but what do you do from there? It depends on your needs. Those who have benefitted from these courses have been those moving or investing overseas, spouses of overseas nationals, people who love to travel all over the world, those interested in English culture, and those who just want to pass a specific examination in English.
Book now / Enquiry2 or more people can benefit studying English together as these English courses are also offered to groups (Two-to-One English Course or Small Group In-Company English Course). Every student must have the same degree of knowledge of the language, the same business or language needs and the ability to study at the same time and place as everybody else. The booking has to be made for all students at the same time. Listen & Learn do not advocate group sessions of more than 6-8 people, though Taster English Courses can be experienced by up to 12 people.
