Our native-speaking, qualified English teachers will tailor your individual or group language course to suit your personal learning aims and English level. They are available to conduct classes in your home or office in Nottingham, on a day and at a time that suits you. Course books are included, and timetables can often be as flexible as you need. Your personalised course will be built around one of the following options:
General English language courses are ideal for students at any level, from complete beginners to advanced learners. These courses are based around developing communication skills in common situations. Your teacher will place an emphasis on vocabulary and grammar, with plenty of speaking, listening, and reading practice. Our general English courses are an ideal way to get started in the language, build on existing skills, or attain a working knowledge before progressing to a business or specialised English course.
For a group of 2 to 12 people who need to gain the same level of English fluency in a given time, Listen & Learn's general group courses are just the thing. So long as the entire class is able to assemble at the same time and location each week and are roughly all at the same level at the start of the course, our group courses will help students gain fluency in everyday conversational English and also gain a good working knowledge of the language. With their main focus on expanding vocabulary and grammar, a general group course is an excellent place to start for those wishing to engage in further English study in the future.
One-to-one business English courses are aimed at learners who already have at least a working knowledge of English, but would like to further develop their skills in business communication. Our courses can be adapted to focus on your particular industry, and your trainer can help you with specific areas of skill development, such as report-writing, dictation, or business correspondence. Business English courses are great for any professionals who would benefit from further knowledge of English, including those working in multinational companies, preparing for international transfer, or seeking a new position. Many of our business students work in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, academia, and government.
Designed for groups of 2-12 learners, our business English group courses are tailormade for the students (and industry) in question. All members of the class should be at the same approximate level of English at the start of the course, able to meet at a regularly-scheduled time and place, and should all have similar learning aims within the language. Lessons focus on enhancing and strengthening core English skills which will help in the professional arena, such as specific vocabulary usage and developing the ability to perform many different tasks in a new language (for example, giving a first-rate presentation, or the right way to compose formal business communication).
Specific purposes English courses are a great boon to people who have already studied English and wish to develop certain facets of their English skills. This can include an array of helpful guidance, including the following:

Nottingham factsA city in the East Midlands, Nottingham is one of the UK's core cities and has a population of around 275,000. Home to the legend of Robin Hood, Nottingham gained much of its prosperity in ages past from the textile industry - most famously for its production of lace. Many large companies have their headquarters in Nottingham, owing to its central location in the UK and its transport. Also famed for its shopping districts, sizeable event and sporting venues, as well as its two universities, Nottingham is increasingly becoming a major centre for tourism, particularly from the US and the Far East.
