French Facts
French is the official language of many African countries, including Cameroon, the Congo, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal and the Seychelles
From the 17th to 19th centuries, France was the leading power of Europe, and was the lingua franca (a language widely used beyond its native speakers) of educated Europe, especially when involving the arts, literature and diplomacy
France is one of few countries worldwide to boast an official linguistic governing body, the Académie Française, whose goal is the constant purification and preservation of the French language

Just our most basic beginners course will have the student finishing the course with basic telephone/e-mail skills in French, as well as survival French should a short stay in the country be needed.
Book now / EnquiryThese courses in French are wider-ranging in their nature, and are driven towards students who have a variety of differing needs. All beginner students will expect to study enough survival French to get them through a short visit to the country, those staying on with the course can progress differently, depending on their individual requests and requirements. Whether you are buying property in a foreign country, married to a foreign national, planning a round-the-world trip, interested in French history and culture, or if you simply want to attain a particular level of French, this is the choice for you.

Derby
A city in the East Midlands of the UK with a population just shy of 230,000, Derby is the 18th largest settlement in England when measured by urban area. Derby and Derbyshire were centres of Britain's Industrial Revolution. Originally the site of Britain's first water-powered silk mill, Derby was an important focal point of the textile industry, with the 19th century seeing Derby become a centre of engineering, specifically railway engineering. Nowadays the city's biggest employers are Rolls-Royce plc and Toyota, and the city has earned the nickname of "Ghost capital of Britain", with over 1,000 paranormal sightings recorded in recent years.
