French Facts
French is the official language of many African countries, including Cameroon, the Congo, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal and the Seychelles
From the 17th to 19th centuries, France was the leading power of Europe, and was the lingua franca (a language widely used beyond its native speakers) of educated Europe, especially when involving the arts, literature and diplomacy
Unlike Latin (but much like most other Romance languages), French has only two grammatical genders (masculine and feminine), and uses auxiliary verbs to form some tenses

The city originally expanded dramatically due to the coal mining industry, but since the closure of the coal mines Doncaster has become important to industries requiring good communication and distribution links to the rest of the UK; as the town is central and has excellent links to the rest of the country, both by road and rail. Famed also for its history of horseracing, Doncaster is home to one of the oldest racetracks in the country.
