Greek Facts

Modern Greek is the fifth stage of the evolution of the Greek language

In many ways Modern Greek is a simplified yet evolved version of Ancient Greek, losing the dative case, the optative mood, the infinitive, participles and many other grammatical elements

Greek is distinctive, along with German, for its ability to create compound words, able to express something another language would need an entire sentence for in one Greek word
