Korean Facts

Modern Korean is written with spaces between words, a feature not found in most other Asian languages (e.g. Chinese, Japanese)

Korea has many dialects, though the standard language of South Korea is based on that spoken around Seoul, the capital; the standard for North Korea is the dialect spoken around P'yongyang

Korean is the official language of both North and South Korea, and a regional official language in the Jilin Province of China

Korean 1 to 1 Business

Korean courses of this type are aimed towards those that need to learn Korean to aid them with their employment. For those just starting out, it is integral to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and reading and writing can be adopted once the simple precepts are out of the way. Success has come from students who are involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, those seeking jobs in multinational companies, and those working with foreign colleagues, academia and bureaucracy. Just our most basic beginners course will have the student finishing the course with basic telephone/e-mail skills in Korean, as well as survival Korean should a short stay in the country be needed.

Korean 1 to 1 General

These Korean courses are more general in nature and are targeted at students with a whole range of different needs. While all beginners level students can expect to cover Survival Korean - required for short visits to a country where English may not be spoken and/or the intention is to make good contacts with the local population, students then generally progress in different directions depending on their needs. Typical students include those buying property overseas, spouses of overseas nationals, people about to set off on that long-awaited world trip, Korean culture enthusiasts and those who are keen to pass a particular Korean examination.

Crawley

A town in West Sussex with a population of just under 100,000, Crawley is an historic unparished borough. The town grew beyond expectations with the advent of the railway in the mid 19th century, its position between London and on the turnpike to the holiday resort of Brighton bringing it untold development. Recent development owes much to the nearby London Gatwick Airport - the busiest single-runway airport in the world. Crawley also offers modern shopping facilities and leisure centres, as well as historic churches and libraries.
