With Listen & Learn's qualified tutors - all of whom are native Portuguese speakers - we can customise your 1-to-1 or group course to cater for your own aims, needs and current Portuguese proficiency. Our teachers can carry out your lessons in your Belfast home or office, arranging classes in advance for a time that suits you. The price includes the cost of your text books, and lesson scheduling can be as adaptable as the lessons themselves. The specifics of your course depends on which course package you choose:

Standard One-to-One Courses in General Portuguese

Our general courses are a good place to start your Portuguese studies, or to improve upon your current skills. They give focused attention to expanding your day-to-day grammar and vocabulary, enabling you to improve your spoken and written Portuguese with relative speed and ease. General courses best suit those wishing to improve their Portuguese to conversational level, as well as students who hope to continue their Portuguese studies to a more advanced level.

Standard Group Courses in General Portuguese

Our Portuguese group courses are targeted for sets of 2-12 people, all of whom have the same requirements from learning Portuguese. Everybody should be at about the same level at the start of the course, and the entire group should be able to meet at the same time and place each week. Grammar and vocabulary form the backbone of the general course, helping the student gain fluency in conversational topics whilst increasing their overall working Portuguese knowledge. For groups who wish to engage in further Portuguese study, the general course is an excellent starting point.

Belfast facts

The historic capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast is the second largest city on the island of Ireland, after Dublin, with a population of over 275,000 in the city limits alone. Famous for its shipbuilding (the Titanic was built here in 1912, and Belfast also sports the largest drydock in the world), Belfast has been for a long time an industrial city, with industries such as linen, rope-making, tobacco and heavy engineering thriving by the end of the 19th century. However, the city is not without its greenery, with over 40 public parks; and is also a cultural and academic centre, earning it the nickname The Athens of Ireland.
