"Thank you for your interest in my progress with my tuition. In the ten sessions I have had so far, I have found Akiko to be very easy to work with and a clear tutor. Although there was some mix up at first with my Japanese level, Akiko quickly got me onto the path of learning Hiragana, and we have now finished learning both Hiragana and Katakana. Akiko has always provided me with resource sheets and has recommended text books for me to purchase to aid my progress. Akiko purchased a Katakana textbook for me a few weeks ago. Akiko is always quick to take on board my feedback and listen to how I like to learn and often revises sections I find challenging to understand. She has been very good with teaching about Japanese grammar - something I find quite difficult - and sets me various revision exercises to ensure I have learned everything properly. We are set to start learning kanji in the New Year and I am looking forward to the challenge. To conclude, I have found Akiko to be a competent tutor and a great person to learn Japanese with. I have learnt a great deal as well as enjoyed my tutoring so far, and look forward to this continuing in the New Year! "

"I've always wanted to travel to China, so when I had planned my 6-month trip around Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong I wanted to have a basic level of Mandarin Chinese for everyday use.
