Cien A\u00f1os De Soledad \u2013 Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez. I have to start by saying that is a fantastic and wonderful book which everyone on the planet should read, but then I have to also admit that I understood about 10% of it the first time that I read it. Matters aren\u2019t helped by the fact that the narrative unfolds like a rambling fantasy which covers several generations of the Buend\u00eda family, many of whom share a name with other members of the family from different generations. Even if you understand as little as I did the first time around I think that you will still enjoy reading it.
\nDon Quixote De La Mancha \u2013 Miguel de Cervantes. Ah, now this was a mistake alright. Don\u2019t get me wrong, I believe it to be a fine book which is justifiably ranked as one of the all time classics in any language never mind Spanish. The problem is that a lot of the old fashioned language is really difficult for someone who is just beginning to learn Spanish<\/a>. Here\u2019s a tip for you, if you like old style books then choose an old English book which has been translated in Spanish, as the modern translation will probably make it easier to read than one which is in the original style of old Spanish it was written in. <\/p>\n
