Asking this question, meaning \u2018<b>Where can I hire a bicycle?<\/b>\u2019, will hopefully allow a Brazilian to point you towards the nearest bicycle rack, though if you want to use the system and you don\u2019t speak Portuguese, you may have ask a <i>carioca<\/i> (a local) to help you.<\/p>\n<h2>Me leve para (Foz do Igua\u00e7u), por favor<\/h2>\n<p>This is the best way to relay to a taxi driver exactly where you want to go \u2013 it means \u2018<b>Take me to (Foz do Igua\u00e7u), please<\/b>\u2019. To call a taxi in the first place, is\u00a0a nice and easy word to remember - <i>t\u00e1xi<\/i>!<\/p>\n<p>And why would you want to go to Foz do Igua\u00e7u? It is the town on the Brazilian side of the famous Iguazu Falls, the spectacular waterfalls where Brazil meets both Argentina and Paraguay.<\/p>\n<h2>Quero alugar um carro<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019d rather get yourself about this phrase will be very useful, as it means simply \u2018<b>I want to hire a car<\/b>\u2019. There are a couple of excellent routes left though, such as the mountain route from Curitiba to Paranagu\u00e1, and our Portuguese question above will allow you to ask <b>directions to the nearest train station<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2>Eu preciso de um mapa do Metr\u00f4<\/h2>\n<p>Both Rio and S\u00e3o Paulo have excellent metro systems \u2013 a safe, cheap and efficient way of exploring each city. This question, meaning, \u2018<b>Where does this bus terminate<\/b>?\u2019, could spare you an expensive return trip in a country that has over two and a half thousand miles between its furthest apart borders.<\/p>\n<h2>Esse barco \u00e9 seguro?<\/h2>\n<p>One of the most impressive ways to get around Brazil, albeit only specific parts of Brazil, is by boat. River travel remains the principal form of passenger transportation for huge parts of the country, with boats of all shapes and sizes making their way up and down the Amazon and the various tributaries and creeks off it.
