(Part I)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am not sure if I am the only person who finds that speaking a second language leads to me saying things which I wouldn\u2019t say in my first language. Here are a few examples of the kind of strange thing I have said since I began to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.listenandlearn.org\/spanish\/ \">learn Spanish<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Mayonnaise with Chips<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I need to start by saying that I knew perfectly well that a milanesa is a breaded piece of meat and that mayonesa is mayonnaise.  Where I used to live was right next to a street with loads of hamburger sellers and as the greasy aroma wafted up and through my window I decided to take a wander down. I wasn\u2019t planning on eating anything but when a cook asked me what I wanted it seemed rude to say \u201cnada\u201d. Instead of this I asked for a \u201cmayonesa\u201d. To be fair he played along with the slip up and handed me a small sachet of mayonnaise while laughing away. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/recetasdecocina.info\/files\/2011\/05\/mayonesa.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am not sure if I am the only person who finds that speaking a second language leads to me saying things which I wouldn\u2019t say in my first language.
