Chinese Facts

The term 'Mandarin' comes directly from Portuguese

Standard Mandarin is used very commonly for reasons of logistics: it is often the only way of communicating between Chinese people from different regions

Unlike most western writing systems, the Chinese characters used in its writing must be learned prior to reading: the picture itself gives no clue as to the pronunciation of said symbol

Chinese 1 to 1 Business

Chinese courses of this type are aimed towards those that need to learn Chinese to aid them with their employment. For those just starting out, it is integral to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and reading and writing can be adopted once the simple precepts are out of the way. Success has come from students who are involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, those seeking jobs in multinational companies, and those working with foreign colleagues, academia and bureaucracy. Just our most basic beginners course will have the student finishing the course with basic telephone/e-mail skills in Chinese, as well as survival Chinese should a short stay in the country be needed.

Wigan

A town in Greater Manchester, in northwest England, Wigan has a population of around 85,000. It was formerly an industrial hub for textile manufacture, but the last mill closed in 1980. The town remains a centre of popular music for youths, with many alternative pubs and clubs to be found in the town centre, all eager to promote and host local musicians and bands. Currently in the middle of a large "regeneration" project, Wigan is undergoing many changes to give it increased commercialism and tourism.
