German Facts

Germany is spoken primarily in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland, as well as in some border villages of Denmark - though German-speaking communities have survived in places such as Hungary, Russia and Kazakhstan

Until circa 1800, standard German was pretty much only a written language, due to the variety of regional dialects

One of the world's major languages, German is closely linked to English and Dutch

These courses in German are meant for those that feel that learning German would make a change in their work. For starters, it is expedient to learn how to say hello/goodbye, as well as basic business protocol; once the basics have been mastered, reading and writing come to the fore. Students who have greatly benefitted have been involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, jobseekers in multinational companies where another language is required, and those working in the international academia and government circuits. Even on our most fundamental beginner's course, students can anticipate ending the course with basic telephone German and e-mail German skills for communicating, as well as survival German if a short visit to the country is needed.

Plymouth

A city in the southwest of England, Plymouth is home to around 250,000 inhabitants, and is situated at the head of one of the world's largest and most impressive natural harbours, the Plymouth Sound. The city has a great maritime history, its role as a naval dockyard making it a primary target for bombing during the Second World War; yet its naval traditions live on. Yet the city has more than boats to offer: its nightlife mainly consists of Union Street, which is lined with a huge number of bars, clubs and casinos; maintaining its reputation as the ideal place to have a wild night out.
