Nouns and most words which function as nouns in German are written starting with a capital letter
German is able to heap words upon one another to create long compound words: whereas in English compounds are formed 'openly' (with spaces)
German uses the Latin alphabet. As well as the 26 standard letters, German has three vowels with an Umlaut, namely ä, ö and ü, as well as the 'Eszett' or 'sharp s', ß.

Nach einer Studie des finnischen Kommunikationsministeriums zahlen die Deutschen die höchsten Telefongebühren.
Um für sein Geld auch einen entsprechenden Gegenwert, d.h. Aufmerksamkeit, zu bekommen, sollte man beim Telefonieren folgendes beachten:
- Am Handy immer besonders laut sprechen, schließlich haben die Mitmenschen ein Recht darauf, das ganze Telefongespräch mitzubekommen. Außerdem werden am Handy ja auch nur Konversationen mit höchstem Niveau geführt.
- Klingelt irgendwo ein Handy, sollte wie selbstverständlich zum eigenen Gerät gegriffen werden, damit jeder sieht, dass man auch ein Handy besitzt. Anschließend wird mit gespielter Überraschung bemerkt, dass es ja gar nicht das eigene Handy war, das geklingelt hat.
- Bevor ein ankommender Anruf angenommen wird, sollte einige Sekunden gewartet werden. Zumindest so lange, bis sichergestellt ist, dass es jeder gehört hat. Anschließend kann mit einem genervten Gesichtsausdruck und den Worten „Können die denn keine Entscheidung ohne mich fällen?“ zum Gerät gegriffen werden.
- Sollte das Handy klingeln, wenn man allein ist, bitte den Anruf ignorieren und in der Hoffnung, dass es der Anruf nocheinmal probiert, schnell ein Ort aufsuchen, an dem sich viele Menschen befinden.
- Besonders geeignet zum Telefonieren mit dem Handy sind folgenden Orte: Museen, Bibliotheken, Opern, Intensivstationen, Friedhöfe und Kirchen.
- Gleichzeitiges Telefonieren und Autofahren fördert nicht nur die Konzentrationsfähigkeit, sonder führt zugleich auch zu einer verbesserten Aufmerksamkeitswirkung. Hierbei ist aber auf jeden Fall das Fenster zu öffnen!

All participants must have the same level, the same business or general language needs and be able to study at the same time in the same location. The booking must be made for all participants at the same time. Listen & Learn do not recommend group classes of more than 6-8 people although In-Company Taster German Courses can be run with up to 12 people.

Warrington
A large town in the northwest of England, Warrington has a population of around 160,000. In Roman times Warrington was a centre of industry and was founded as a bridging point for the river Mersey. During the Industrial Revolution the town was a centre for steel, textiles, tanning, and the brewing and chemical industries. The town is also home to over 10 annual carnivals and festivals, as well as "walking days", when the town centre is closed to traffic for many to take to the streets. Warrington also has one of the largest shopping centres in the North West, even given its proximity to several other major cities.
