While all beginners level students can expect to cover Survival Icelandic—required for short visits to a country where English may not be spoken and/or the intention is to make good contacts with the local population—students then generally progress in different directions depending on their needs. Typical students include those buying property overseas, spouses of overseas nationals, people about to set off on that long-awaited world trip, Icelandic-culture enthusiasts and those who are keen to pass a particular Icelandic examination. Face-to-Face 1-to-1 (Individual) Business Icelandic
The people who would benefit the most from these Icelandic tutorials are those who feel they need to learn Icelandic to help them out in their business lives. For starters, learning salutations and business etiquette is essential. Once these have been practised, then reading and writing lessons can begin. Typical studiers have been those involved in international imports/exports, negotiations and acquisitions, multinational companies requiring another language and those working in any way with international governments and relevant administration. Even our simplest lesson for beginners will have students finishing the lessons with basic telephone and e-mail Icelandic as well as survival Icelandic should a visit to the country be necessary. Face-to-Face Closed (Private) Group General or Business Icelandic
Two or more people can benefit from studying Icelandic together as these Icelandic lessons are also offered to groups (Two-to-One Icelandic Lessons or Small Group In-Company Icelandic Lessons). Every student must have the same degree of knowledge of the language, the same business or language needs and the ability to study at the same time and place as everybody else. The booking has to be made for all students at the same time. Skype, Google Meet or Zoom Online 1-to-1 (Individual) General or Business Icelandic
Our native speaker qualified Icelandic language teachers can train you and your colleagues at your office or home at a time to suit you. Classes can be any day of the week (even weekends) in the morning, afternoon or evening. Those wishing to learn Icelandic in groups of two or more together (Two-to-One Icelandic Lessons or Small Group In-Company Icelandic Lessons) can sign up for our group classes. All students must be at nearly the same level of Icelandic proficiency, have the same needs from the language and be able to study at the same time and place as the others. Bookings must be made for all students simultaneously. Listen & Learn does not propose group sizes of more than 6-8 people, but In-Company Taster Icelandic Lessons can occur with up to 12 people.
