Our native-speaking, qualified English teachers will tailor your individual or group language course to suit your personal learning aims and English level. They are available to conduct classes in your home or office in Liverpool, on a day and at a time that suits you. Course books are included, and timetables can often be as flexible as you need. Your personalised course will be built around one of the following options:
Our general English language courses are suitable for learners of any level. They aim to enable communication in everyday situations and are an ideal way to improve your knowledge of English, whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned speaker. A general course focuses predominantly on grammar and vocabulary, supported by development of speaking, reading, and listening skills. General courses are ideal if you want to attain or improve on an all-round level of English, or build a strong foundation before moving on to business English training.
Our group courses in general English are perfect if you have a group of 2-12 students who have achieved approximately the same level of English, whether that be beginner or advanced. Your teacher will focus on English grammar and vocabulary that will be useful in everyday communication, and will provide plenty of practice with speaking, reading, and listening. Your group should have similar learning goals, and be available at the same time and location every week. A general group course is suitable for groups of colleagues or friends, and is also a good option for businesses who want to give their employees a basic grounding in English before they begin a business English course.
1-to-1 business English courses can really help you get ahead, whether you are relocating abroad, looking for work in a foreign country, or simply if you work for a multinational organisation. These courses are mainly aimed at learners who already possess a decent working English knowledge and who want to build on these in order to use their English skills in a business environment. The course is fully customised to take into account not only your learning needs, but also the appropriate industry's vocabulary and any particular skills the role demands, such as report writing or formal correspondence.
These business English courses are aimed at groups of 2 to 12 people who already have a fair working English knowledge, who wish to convert this knowledge to practicable business use. So long as all members of the group are at the same level of English at the start of the course, and are able to meet for each class at a pre-arranged time and place, then the classes will be of great benefit to all involved. Business courses will generally focus on the field or industry in question, incorporating related vocabulary and improving appropriate skills, such as writing reports, formal business correspondence or giving a presentation.
For individuals at intermediate or advanced level English who have specific professional or interest-related language requirements, we are more than happy to incorporate any of the following elements into your language course:
• Accent softening and elocution
• Training to improve particular language skills (writing, comprehension, listening)
• Language for international travel
• Business communication skills (e.g. telephony, presentation, training, negotiation)
• Business writing skills (e.g. reports, business correspondence, proposals)
• Language for specific industries (e.g. medical, legal, HR, engineering, accounting)
• Historical and cultural sensitivity.
As long as all members of a group English course are at a similar level of expertise, specific purpose English courses can be customised to suit the needs of the group of 2-12 students with similar learning aims. These often include:
Vocabulary related to the industry (legal, HR, engineering, accounting, medical etc.)
• Accent softening and elocution
• Expanding upon existing aspects (writing, speaking, listening, reading etc.)
• Language for travelling
• Communication skills in business (e.g. training, negotiation, telephony, presentation)
• Writing skills in business (e.g. reports, business correspondence, proposals)
• Historical and cultural sensitivity
"She is a really good teacher, and I feel that she really prepares the class for my needs. It is a shame that I have to go back to my country - I really feel that I have improved my English"
